Setting up Windows Live Mail

 

 

Type in settings after choosing add new e-mail account

 

To view existing e-mail account in old Outlook Express

Uncheck: leave a copy of messages on the server.

 

If you are not sure if they have an organizer or something, then leave on server for one day.

 

For the pull down menus to show up at the top, press and release Alt (tap Alt key)

 

To import mail

 

File, Import, Messages

Windows Outlook Express 6 is XP

Windows Live Mail is Windows 7

Windows Mail is Vista

Browse to the original location: Outlook Express Identities

Go through the layers until you get to Outlook Express

Do not make a new folder. Click OK

Click next

Take the ALL Folders default, then click NEXT

Finish

Click on Contacts (bottom Left under Calendar.

Press and release the Alt key to get the pull down menus to appear.

File

Import

Windows Address Book.wab

Go to the backup location where you saved the old data

C:\backup\administrator or owner or whatever\address book

Select the .wab file and choose open

Select Administrator or whatever the folder is

Look at File Name: Administrator should appear there

Click Open
