Should I get a warranty with my new PC?
The majority of PC manufacturers include a limited warranty that covers up to the first year. The quality of this warranty has steadily dwindled as the cost of PCs has declined, but the challenges they face in troubleshooting have also increased.
Generally speaking the higher priced warranties result in support provided by better trained technicians, and with better English skills. While even premium support options will start with phone or remote based troubleshooting they prioritize repair work that requires shipping the unit back to them. Having said all that if you use your PC for business or for personal activities that are vital, e.g. photo albums that you want to be sure are never lost, then the higher priced warranties are worth the investment.
Before stopping there it's important to remember that no matter how good the warranty service it's always good to have a company available for on-site assistance in an emergency and to have a spare, ready to use PC as a backup.
