Setting up a Shared or
Network Printer in Windows Vista

Select the Windows Icon, Settings, Printers

If in the new view select Control Panel

Select Printer

Select Add a printer

Select Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer, Next

Select your printer from the list. If a number is listed this is a standalone printers IP address, you can compare this with the status report that the printer will generate for you through its own built in interface. If a printer is followed by \\Computer Name\Share name, then it is connected to another computer.

To determine a computer’s name right click on Computer from the Start Menu or desktop and select properties.

Select the Manufacturer and Model, if not listed select Have disk and browse your printer CD for drivers

Select Next

Wait for your drivers to install
