My web browser does not work. How do I fix this?
If you have other internet based programs (e-mail through Outlook, VPN clients, etc) check to see if they're working. If you don't have one of these try the following steps:

If you do not receive a reply and/or your alternate programs are unable to browse then jump ahead to Failed Connection. If you receive a reply message or if your alternate programs are working then you most likely have browser damage. To resolve this try updating to a more recent version. This can be accomplished in Internet Explorer by selecting Tools, Windows Update and following the prompts. If you have the latest version already, try removing it to revert to a previous version as follows:

If reverting to a previous version of Internet Explorer does not resolve your issue, you may need to use more serious, either switching to a new program for browsing the Internet, or using a tool to clean-up your PC. Here's our Guide to dealing with Ads and Installing Alternate Browsers
